This painting explores the magical mystery of moonlight and bare branches, invoking thoughts of the universe as twinkling stars shine through the branches. What is it about moonlight that changes ordinary daylight surroundings into another world of mysterious possibilities?  The artist grew up camping out with her family in natural, sometimes primitive settings, where being surrounded by moonlight, stars, trees, woodland creatures, and sometimes unsettling sounds was experienced every summer.  Sitting around a campfire at night, listening to stories being told, was a valuable and unique experience.
